What is Gift Aid?
As a supporter of Vision Africa, you will know how hard we work to ensure that every penny we raise goes as far as it can to help children in poverty. Through Gift Aid you can help us make your donations go 25% further and it won’t cost you a penny!
How does it work?
So long as you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid enables you to boost the value of your donations by 25p for every £1 you give to us.
So, for example, if you decide to give £10 to Vision Africa, we will be able to reclaim an extra £2.50 from HM Revenue & Customs. It might not sound like a lot, but every penny really does count! All at no cost to you.
Futhermore, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, you are entitled to claim tax relief on your donations, enabling you to reclaim as much as 25p from every £1 donated to charity.
You donate £100 to us – we claim Gift Aid to make your donation £125. You pay 40% tax so you can personally claim back £25.00 (£125 x 20%).
What do you need to do?
To donate through Gift Aid, all you need to do is complete a simple declaration confirming that you are a UK taxpayer and that you are happy for us to claim tax relief on your donation. Just one declaration can apply to all donations that you have made to us over the past 4 years and to any forthcoming gifts you make, until you notify us otherwise. It is that simple.
If you give online you can make your Gift Aid declaration at the time you donate. If you send us money by bank transfer or by cheque we have a simple form you can download and send to us:
