Crail Primary School in Scotland raised £1,505 at their annual sponsored run. This will provide nutritious meals for students at KiMMta ECD. A former pupil of Crail Primary recently volunteered at several of our projects and served morning porridge at KiMMta one day while she was in Kibera.
US company Single Source Inc. made a donation of $1,000 to Clayton’s Mechanics via our partners at the Tin Roof Society (TRS). TRS Founder, Shawn Koonce, presented the donation to the staff and students on a visit to Seed of Hope Nairobi. This donation will buy one year’s supply of materials like oil and filters for the trainee mechanics.
Evans Muriu has been mentoring at Seed of Hope for several years. He has recently accepted a voluntary role as a Vision Africa Ambassador along with Naomi Mutua and Atemi Oyungu. The role of these Ambassadors is to raise awareness of Vision Africa’s work and help us seek new opportunities for funding and support.
Millennium Consulting raised £740 at their annual charity golf day in 2014. They are now looking for teams to participate in their 2015 event which will take place on the 19th of June at Badgemore Park in Oxfordshire.
Brooklands Church of the Nazarene in Manchester has a long history of supporting Vision Africa. Their recent efforts include raising funds at a Sunday service for Samuel from Percy Davies Special School to have surgery in 2014 and the toddler group selling cakes to support a new Hair and Beauty Therapy course at Kitui Seed of Hope.
