I am delighted to announce that starting today, 3rd April, Vic Hancock Fell has joined the Vision Africa team as UK National Director. Vic starts a new season for Vision Africa and will lead and shape the work of the charity in the UK and beyond. She will have full day to day responsibility for leading and running of the charity and will drive the strategic direction of the charity going forward, working closely with the team in Kenya and our UK and US Boards, as well as all of our partners and supporters.
Vic joins us with a wealth of relevent experience, most recently with Team Kenya. She has over ten years of experience working in the education and non-profit sectors in the UK and internationally. She has studied philosophy and religion and has a PGCE and a Masters in NGO Management. Vic has a comprehensive understanding of and respect for complex communities in Kenya, having been involved with other Kenyan organisations since 2008. She comes to Vision Africa with an in depth knowledge of and passion for the small international development sector and is the Founder of an online support network of over 500 small NGOs. Vic is originally from the North East and currently lives in Sheffield with her husband and daughter.
Quoting from the Team Kenya Facebook page, Vic said:
“Team Kenya has and always will be an enormously important part of my life. I have been volunteering for the charity since I was 11 years old and in 2015 I was privileged to become the charity’s first paid member of staff. After a period of maternity leave and a chance sighting of a great opportunity at another small charity I admired, I have decided it is time for a new personal and professional challenge and I am very excited to take on my new role at Vision Africa! I look forward to continuing to shape the future of Team Kenya as a volunteer.”
We at Vision Africa wish Team Kenya all the best for the future and are very grateful that we have this wonderful opportunity to benefit from all the experience that Vic has gained while working with them.
Welcome to the team Vic!
