School Projects

Vision Africa works with various school projects across Kenya. We strongly believe that education is the key to helping the children make a brighter future for themselves. We aim to provide a good educational environment, a good square meal each day and a healthy school population.

While Primary Education is now free in Kenya, there are many schools with inadequate facilities and many orphaned or destitute children that don't have access to the basics such a shoes, a uniform, school bag and pencils and a square meal each day. We aim to help fill this gap and help the children learn in a good standard of facilities.

We have built school classrooms and Nursery units at several schools, including Nyamwanga Primary and Busire Primary in Western province and Orogare Primary in Nyanza province. We have also helped provide facilities for schools in Kibera and Riruta slums. We have also been able in some schools to provide kitchen facilities so that the children can be fed at school.

As well as a good quality education, we want every child to get at least one good square meal a day. Since for many this will not happen at home, we provide many of the schools that we support with a daily feeding programme. This means that for every day a child is at school they can be guaranteed a good nutritious meal.

If you sponsor a child through school with Vision Africa we make sure they have a school uniform, shoes, books and materials and access to the feeding programme. We will make good on any extra fees required for them and sometimes are able to help with more difficult situations, such as health issues.
