Vision Africa - Give a Child a Future. Providing education, food and welfare for children and orphans in the slums of Kenya.

	Organisation Vision Africa has 3 main elements to it's organisation:  A UK based foundation comprising of a board of members and an executive committee, a Kenya based Council of Reference and Field Directors.  In addition there are Field Workers and Friends.  These are explained below... Executive Committee Comprises of not less than four and not more than nine members, including the Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.  The executive committee is responsible for the day to day running of the organisation in the UK and for overall control of all aspects of operation of Vision Africa.  The members of the Executive Committee are the trustees of the Charity. Council of Reference The Council of Reference is there to ensure transparency of all activities and finances, and legal authenticity of operation, of Vision Africa in Kenya.  Acting in an advisory capacity to the Field Directors and to the UK Executive Committee, it ensures accountability of the field staff for projects and finances. Field Officers The Executive Committee will, from time to time, appoint Field Directors to lead the work in a given area.   Field directors will become ex-officio members of the board of members and the council of reference and are directly accountable to the Executive Committee.   They will be supported by workers and volunteers who do not gain automatic membership of Vision Africa.   Board of Members Limited to twenty in number (other than Field Directors), this comprises of members of Vision Africa in the UK.  The Executive Committee is drawn from the Board of Members.  It will meet at  least annually (in the form of an AGM), or as requested by the Executive Committee.  It will act in an advisory capacity to the Executive Committee.  In practice the Board and Executive committee meetings are combined to keep things simple.  Board members are all also members of the Christian community and are drawn from a wide variety of supporting churches. Membership is by application to the Executive Committee. Friends of Vision Africa This is a non-voting membership and is open to anyone who shares the vision and objectives of Vision Africa and is interested in furthering it's work.  Board members will be drawn from 'Friends of Vision Africa'.  Everyone who participates in supporting the work of Vision Africa is considered a 'Friend'.
