Meet One of Our Kenyan Board Members

If you read our blog, you will have seen recent introductions to some of the key Vision Africa staff members Florence, Gerald and Mary. There are more of these in the pipeline but in the meantime we would like to introduce you to one of the members of our Kenyan board, known as the Council of Reference. The Council of Reference is there to ensure transparency of all activities and finances, and legal authenticity of operation of Vision Africa in Kenya. Acting in an advisory capacity to the Field Directors and to the UK Executive Committee, it ensures accountability of the field staff for projects and finances.

Footprints (updated)

BREAKING NEWS: If you live in Scotland please note we have added a Glasgow Footprints event! This will take place on the 11th September at Parkhead Congregational Church from 2pm – 5pm.

On the 18th September we would like you to join us at Brooklands Church, Manchester, on a journey to see some of the footprints made by our supporters and project staff. Kibera Lutheran School Update

The Lutheran school was started by church members who came together to give the big population of Kibera children a place they can call a school. Kibera being the largest slum in Sub-Saharan Africa has an estimated population of 1million people where 60% are young people and children. This population has overtaken the education facilities in the area forcing churches, organisations and donors to invest more in education by providing a place for children to learn. These schools are known as non-formal schools and Lutheran School falls under this category.
