Friends to the Rescue

What would you do if you and your family lost your home and all your belongings in a few hours due to a fire? Sadly, that is a situation that one of our Nairobi Seed of Hope students recently had to face.

Patience has just completed her first year at Seed of Hope. She lives with her sister, brother in law and their three children in Dagoretti. One evening, a child from a neighbouring house was sent inside to fetch something. As he left, he didn’t notice that the curtain had caught fire due to the flame from a nearby lamp. Meet One of Our Kenyan Board Members

If you read our blog, you will have seen recent introductions to some of the key Vision Africa staff members Florence, Gerald and Mary. There are more of these in the pipeline but in the meantime we would like to introduce you to one of the members of our Kenyan board, known as the Council of Reference. The Council of Reference is there to ensure transparency of all activities and finances, and legal authenticity of operation of Vision Africa in Kenya. Acting in an advisory capacity to the Field Directors and to the UK Executive Committee, it ensures accountability of the field staff for projects and finances.
