The last few months have been busy for Seed of Hope. Both our first and second year students have been sitting their external trade exams and in September we saw three out of our four centres hold their graduation ceremonies. These two events are closely linked – traditionally, Seed of Hope has held graduations in December but since our second year students started sitting their trade exams, a number of them were able to find employment and put their skills to good use before their graduation ceremony. This year, it was decided that graduations would be held shortly after the exams so that all students who had completed their course at Seed of Hope would be there.

To mark the occasion in Nairobi, an event was held at the British High Commissioner’s Residence and Vision Africa was proud to be part of the day. Thanks to our matches between the British High Commission Cheetahs and Kibera Mpira Mtaani we were invited along to promote the work of Kibera Mpira Mtaani.

Crafted
Posted on June 23rd, 2009 by Kirsty
2009 sees the start of a new venture for Vision Africa. “Crafted” is an enterprise which will allow us to build on the skills and talents of Seed of Hope graduates and students as well as some of the older children from other projects. Crafted will provide an outlet for handmade products made by children and young adults who have benefited from a Vision Africa project. As well as the individuals gaining income for their work, Vision Africa will receive the profits from sales to allow us to continue assisting disadvantaged children in Kenya.
