Nairobi Chapel visits Seed of Hope

In recent months, Seed of Hope Nairobi has enjoyed a blossoming relationship with neighbouring church Nairobi Chapel. On the 9th of April, two small groups from the congregation went a step further and visited the homes of some students, a small business run by two graduates and the current students at the centre located at Dagoretti Corner.

John Packard Family Cup 2010

Saturday 20th March saw the launch of Kibera Mpira Mtaani’s John Packard Family Cup Tournament. The highlight of the event was a match between a combined Kibera Mpira Mtaani side and K-Krew – a local group of musical artists and DJs. Despite the rain and mud, the game went well and ended in a 2-2 draw so a rematch is being scheduled for a later date.

Vision Africa supports children’s projects in Kenya. Our aim is to put Christian love into action in a practical and compassionate ministry among children who are vulnerable and in desperate need. Vision Africa works with various projects throughout Kenya, facilitating growth and sustainability.  Our aim is to empower community based organisations to enhance community services and work together towards development.

 


A Donor’s Perspective

Founders’ Day Celebrations

27th February 2010 is a day that will go down in Vision Africa’s history. On that day staff, children and friends of Vision Africa projects travelled from all over Kenya to join together in appreciation of the work of Vision Africa founders – Reverend and Mrs. Packard – who were the guests of honour at the event. Our host for the day was Field Director Deborah Kimathi assisted by Vision Africa Administrator and master of ceremonies for the day, John Kiboro.

Seed of Hope Latest

To mark International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, we’d like to bring you our latest update from Seed of Hope where we are helping young destitute girls become strong independent women.

Recruitment at Seed of Hope is drawing to a close for this year with new girls being enrolled at all four centres. Encouragingly, there was a very low drop-out rate over the Christmas holidays and our second year students are now in full swing as they prepare for their trade exams. Read the full article »
