Joe Timperan celebrated his 80th birthday by doing a sponsored cycle ride in his home area in aid of Vision Africa. As a result, he raised the wonderful and amazing total of £1,790!!!
Joe has been a staunch supporter of Vision Africa from its very beginning back in 2001 and we say thank you to him for his recent birthday event.

On the 9th July 2009, Vision Africa received an offer we just couldn’t refuse. We have been invited to be listed on Optimist World’s website and compete for their charity of the week/ year award. As well as the free publicity, winners of the initial stages of this competition are in with a chance of winning a cash prize which would be put towards our projects in Kenya.
In June 2009 Maureen Mwende became the administrator of Vision Africa’s new enterprise called “Crafted”. Here, in her own words, is the path that led her to this role.
I have just spent six weeks volunteering with Vision Africa, and I have had a very eye opening and fantastic experience. I spent half of my time living and volunteering in Nairobi, and the other half at various Vision Africa projects in more rural areas of Kenya.
