Over the last few months Bob, Deborah and I have been blogging about Vision Africa projects and events. I’d like to take some time over the next few weeks to introduce you to some of the people who help keep these projects going. I’ve put together a few questions and given them out to our key staff members so that you can get to know them a bit better.
Today I’d like to introduce you to Mary Njoki Mwangi.
Projects you work with:
- Kandara Children’s Home (St. Andrews Baby Unit and ECD*)
- Percy Davies Special School in Kambiti
- Kirunguru Special School
What impact do you see Vision Africa having?
The lives of abandoned children are changed from being abandoned on the roads to smiling faces moving happily within the baby unit. The many challenged children who had been looked down on and hidden from society have now been able to access basic education and learn life skills which I’m sure will help them in future all courtesy of Vision Africa.
How do you feel about working for Vision Africa?
I feel privileged to have the opportunity to give back to the society by caring and changing the lives of children. Seeing the children smile every day and looking up with hope in their eyes is the greatest gift life can give and I’m happy to be a team of those bringing the change!
Do you have a message for anyone who would like to donate time/skills/money to a Vision Africa project?
It brings a load of content and happiness when you know that somewhere one child is alive due to your efforts and generosity! It’s valueless to give to a needy soul and we believe that by responding to the cries of needy children and donating to our work God will reward you greatly.
Thanks to Mary for taking the time to let us know a little bit about her and I hope you’ll look out for more introductions in the coming weeks.
Remember you can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook for regular updates about our work.
